As more couples are having to shift their wedding plans from big and lavish to small and simple, downsizing your dream day to a selection of key guests in a relaxed setting can be a positive way forward – even when COVID restrictions begin to ease in 2021.
Perfectly Packaged in a Pullman Railway Carriage
Small gatherings will help couples save on wedding costs in these difficult times. Fairwood Lakes offers a family-friendly, memorable and affordable option in a quiet rural setting with plenty of space and fun facilities to suit every guest, whatever their age. The ceremony will be far from ordinary; our 1954 Pullman railway carriage, the Fairwood Express, creates a quirky feel to the wedding as the bridal party walks down a vintage aisle surrounded by the nostalgia of romantic bygone days of first class rail travel.
The Fairwood Express was discovered neglected in a field near Birmingham several years ago, and has since been lovingly restored. She now serves as a majestic backdrop for an intimate, quirky wedding for couples and their loved ones, providing an exclusive safe haven in a lakeside setting.
Space to Celebrate and Relax
While the celebrations are in full swing post-ceremony, younger guests can sprawl out in a contained play area surrounding the carriage, and enjoy exclusive use of our soft play – perfect for rainy day weddings! Dinner will be served onboard the Fairwood Express followed by dancing, and when everyone’s ready to retire we have pitches for camping, caravans, or guests can soak up the lakeside views in their private luxury lodge hot tub. Did we mention our shepherd’s huts and treehouses? They add to the quirky experience of a Fairwood Lakes wedding, and in the summer months our Garsington Maid wooden sailing boat on the banks of the lake makes a cute hideaway for two.
There’s so much here to help you celebrate and relax in style. If you’re looking to enjoy a memorable and quirky wedding experience for less, make our secluded park your home for the biggest day of your life.
